Sculpture in Motion: the Honda Trail 90

In collaboration with Flying Heart Motorworks I'm customizing 3 derelict Honda scooters from the late 60's/early 70's.  So far, they have been completely disassembled and the engines rebuilt.  Currently I am preparing the frames for their final paint coat and then will begin reassembling them.  Please contact me if you are interested!

Color schemes for the new bikes

Rebuilt transmissions wrapped to protect them from dust and awaiting reinstallation

Primed frames and body panels ready for base coats of paint

Candle Logs

There's something about campfires that draws us together.  A while back I completed a symbol fire pit that was designed to create a place for folks to gather during the warmer summer months, and have been thinking about the role of fire in gathering people together since.

Unfortunately, many fires contribute a significant amount of particulates to the air (although there are some good practices you can use to reduce these harms here).  I got to thinking about how to create the ambiance  of a fire without some of the negative side effects, and came up with the idea of sculpting old pallet wood into candle holders that can be used in fireplaces, on mantles, etc and still retain some of the original feeling of a campfire.

Both of these sculptures can be found on Blue Boat Home's Etsy site.
